On Thursday Chris shod several horses while Guy, Matt, Russell, Kennedy & Steve worked on setting some posts and gate repairs.
On Friday we were joined by Ginny & Blaine Baker, Darren & Kids and Steve Terry, his son-in-law Jamon and their 3 friends. We stacked and burned old lumber that had cluttered the exterior of the corrals, we set a new gate post between Cecils & Knolls and the Terry friends did an excellent job repairing the damaged tin on the Hay Barn that Rusty the horse had kicked in. Last of all we filled the small trailer with metal trash that had been cluttering the property and made a dump run. We would have had 2 trailers full but Guy wanted to keep some of the trash that had been rusting for 20 years "just in case we need it".
As everyone headed home after the weekend, Guy and Charlene remain behind to feed the calves every day for 3 weeks.
Saturday brought Cody & Greg & kids up for the Round Up. We rounded up the cattle on both the Knolls pasture and Ciero Hueco to the big Mill and cut off the yearlings. We trailered them to the ranch house to be weaned over the next few weeks. The Baker Mechanics attempted a repair of the generator at the Big Mill but still need some parts.
